A Brief Note About EMR School Khumulwng

Eklavya Model Residential School, Khumulwng styled as EMRS Khumulwng is a 420 seated co-educational English medium school run by Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS) under Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tripura. The management of TTWREIS is vested to the Board of Governors consisting of nine EX-Officio members and twelve nominated members under the chairmanship of the Principal Secretary, Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. Of Tripura is also the sole authority and rule maker for EMRS Khumulwng.

Established on 19^th july 2002, EMRS Khumulwng is an institute for imparting education to the scheduled tribe students of Tripura only who gets selected through a centrally conducted admission test by TTWREIS. Once admitted at this institution, a student gets free of cost education and accommodation with the grant and aids released by Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. Of Tripura time to time and it is mandatory for all students to accommodate at the hostel under strict compliance of day to day regulations. Beside the above, pupils of this institution are also provided with free of cost books, copies, pen & pencil, school uniforms (both for summer & winter), shoe & socks and other stationary belongings. In addition, this school also facilitates extracurricular activities like games and sports, music classes, craft classes etc to its pupils for ensuring their all round development.

EMRS Khumulwng is presently running classes from sixth standard to higher secondary level and following the   curriculum of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and has got enough infrastructures for its implementation effectively and accurately. The school got its affiliation from CBSE in the year 2007 and has been performing satisfactorily on an average in the board exams till date.

The staffs including Principal, teachers, non-teaching staff and Group-D staff are recruited by TTWREIS through direct recruitment process as and when required and as per sanctioned posts.  Staffs of this institution have been provided facilities like accommodation in quarter, drinking water, electricity etc and it is mandatory for them to accommodate in the campus.

The overall infrastructure, green plantation, management, staff strength etc have made the atmosphere of EMRS Khumulwng healthy and suitable for continuing the teaching learning process as well as for man making education.
